The Clerkhill Mosaics

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

The Clerkhill mosaics in Peterhead – these should be going on the wall in the playground by the end of November. Lots of independent working and new skills for the children. We have worked on a sea theme as Peterhead has the luxury of being on the coast with a fantastic sea view.

The children made five mosaics plus two for the nursery – every child in the school will have been involved – around 400 children in all. (more…)

The Peterhead Project

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

We are still working on the Peterhead project in the far north east of Scotland. It’s huge, it’s fantastic! Every school in the network (11 schools) is having an outdoor playground project made by the children. Two schools still to go, one work in progress this week, some work up and some waiting to go up. We’re looking to be finished by the end of November with all of the work up by Christmas.

There has been a tree sculpture, a floor mosaic designed and made by the children, friendship stops and more.  The children have been fantastic – hopefully we will round off the project with a big, joint celebration of what they’ve made.
