Mobiles

Friday, October 10th, 2008

St Paul’s Primary School in Surrey had a two day project to produce mobiles to hang from their ceilings. We took a multicultural and international theme – taking animals as the starting point – and they look just fantastic. A real tissue paper and wire feast for the eyes. On day one the whole school worked with us and their teachers to produce the work – day two was spent compiling the work ready for hanging. This idea can be adapted to cover a whole range of topics and can be applied from the bottom of the school to the top.

The Village Storytelling Centre in Glasgow collaborated with us and we worked with a storyteller – Allison Galbraith – to produce a willow and Modroc unicorn to be used as part of the storytelling corner.  This was linked to the Glasgow Inspiration festival.

We also worked as part of their festival of storytelling to make mosaic panels linked to stories and the local area and were joined for this project by Jaine Marriott, a local artist.
